Sam's Choice
Sam's Choice is a private label brand created by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for its namesake Wal-Mart Discount Stores, Supercenters, and Neighborhood Markets. The brand was introduced as Sam's American Choice in 1991 and has since been shortened to simply Sam's Choice. It is named after Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart. Other Wal-Mart private label brands include Great Value , Equate , Ol' Roy (named after founder Sam Walton's dog), and Special Kitty among others.
Items produced under the Sam's Choice label include cookies, chips, dip, frozen foods, and various other grocery items. Along with another Wal-Mart private label, Great Value , Sam's Choice items can be found in almost every grocery category at Wal-Mart. The following are Sam's Choice soda pop brands:
- Cola (in various varieties including diet and caffene free)
- Twist Up
- Mountain Lightning (formerly Green Lightning)
- Dr. Thunder
- Root Beer
- Orangette
- Grapette
- Ginger Ale
