Santiago de Surco
Santiago de Surco, commonly known simply as Surco, is a district of Lima, Peru.
Due to its big extension it is a socio-economically heterogeneous district, having inhabitants of all classes.
It has some of the most exclusive and prestigious schools and universities of Lima, including University of Lima , Ricardo Palma University , and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas .
Many shopping centers are also located here, such as "Jockey Plaza Shopping Center", "Caminos del Inca", "Chacarilla" and "El Polo.
Several of Lima's most important avenues pass through Surco, including the South Pan-American Highway and the Javier Prado, Benavides, Derby and Tomás Marsano avenues, which connect the district with San Isidro, Lima's financial district, and Miraflores.
