ScanSoft
Scansoft Incorporated is a (primarily) Belgian-based computer software technology company focusing on productivity software. Their worldwide headquarters is in Peabody, Massachusetts in the USA. ScanSoft is known in part for its voice-recognition suite Dragon Naturally Speaking (formerly Dragon Dictate).
Company History
At the end of 2001, ScanSoft acquired Lernout & Hauspie's Speech and Language division for $39.5 million, following the latter's bankruptcy proceedings. ScanSoft is publicly traded (Nasdaq: SSFT).
