School year

(Redirected from Schoolyear)

The Schoolyear (also school year or academic year) describes the time(s) a student goes to school, college, university etc.

In the elementary and high schools in the Czech Republic it's usually from 1st of September to 30th of June of the next year.

In Britain, most schools open on the first Monday of September, and it often ends on the 2nd Friday of July. Universities often have different times, depending on whether they use a two semester or three term system, but as a rule they start later in September and finish in May or June.

In the United States it usually begins the day after Labor Day and depending on the school, ends in late May or by the middle of June.

In Scotland, they begin school in late August, and end it around early June, but could end at any time of the year because of adverse weather conditions, restricting teacher's access to schools.

In Brazil, schools open on the first two weeks of February, rarely on first Monday in March and ends in late November.
