Schouwen-Duiveland

Schouwen-Duiveland is a municipality and an island in the southwestern Netherlands.

The Brouwersdam is a dam, part of the Delta Works, from Schouwen-Duiveland to Goedereede, the west part of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in South Holland.

Brijdorpe, Brouwershaven, Bruinisse, Burgh, Burghsluis, Dreischor, Elkerzee, Ellemeet, Haamstede, Kerkwerve, Looperskapelle, Moriaanshoofd, Nieuwerkerk, Nieuwerkerke, Noordgouwe, Noordwelle, Oosterland, Ouwerkerk, Renesse, Scharendijke, Schuddebeurs, Serooskerke, Sirjansland, Westenschouwen, Zierikzee, Zonnemaire.

There is no village called Schouwen-Duiveland itself — the municipality takes it name from the island, which itself got its name when the former islands Schouwen and Duiveland (and Dreischor) were poldered together.

Brouwershaven

Brouwershaven is a small city on the Grevelingen, on the north coast of the island. It received city rights in 1477.

Renesse

Renesse is a popular tourist resort with free bus services in the area (in summer only).

Zierikzee

Zierikzee is a small city, located on the former island of Duiveland. It received city rights in 1248 and was an independent municipality until 1997. The city is connected to the Oosterschelde by a 2 km long canal.
