SdKfz 250



The SdKfz 250 was an armoured half track, similar in appearance to the larger Sdkfz 251, used by Nazi Germany in World War II.


The "250" had 4 roadwheel axles, compared to 6 for the 251.

History

For both the 250 and 251, the initial designs had a body made of multiple angled plates which gave good protection against small arms fire. This made the design expensive to manufacture, and simplifications were made in later models

Equiped with radio equipment and "bedstead" aerial frame.

Sd.Kfz. 250/6

  • Sd.Kfz. 250/6 Ausf A - with kurz (short) 75mm Sturmkanone with 70 rounds.
  • Sd.Kfz. 250/6 Ausf B - with 75mm Sturmkanone with 60 rounds.

Sd.Kfz. 250/7

    • Model A with 80 mm Granatwerfer (Mortar)
    • Model B Munitionstransporter (ammunition transporter) to carry extra ammunition for the Model A.

Sd.Kfz. 250/8

Kanonenwagen with a 75mm gun and a MG 34.

Sd.Kfz. 250/9

with a 20 mm Maschinenkanone (Machine Cannon )coaxial with a MG34 in a low open topped turret similar to that of the SdkFz armoured cars.

Sd.Kfz. 250/10

with 37 mm PAK (Panzerabwehrkanone) The same antitank gun as used by the Wehrmacht early in the war.

With 28 mm Panzerbüchse (Anti-tank rifle) and a MG-34.
