Seabrook Nuclear Power Station
The Seabrook Nuclear Power Station is a nuclear power plant located in Seabrook, New Hampshire, approximately 60 mi (100 km) north of Boston. The station is own of three nuclear generating stations operated by Florida Power & Light (the other two are in Florida). Although the contruction permit for the plant was granted in 1976, the station operation was delayed because controversy. It began operating in 1990 and generates 1,024 MW of electrical power at full capacity. The station uses cooling water from the Atlantic Ocean, which is returned to the ocean after use.
