Sebastian Junger

Sebastian Junger (1962 - ) is the well known author of The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea. Published in 1997, it recounts the tale of the October 1991 "perfect storm", focusing on the loss of the Gloucester fishing boat Andrea Gail off the coast of Nova Scotia. It was subsequently made into a Warner Brothers motion picture.

Sebastian Junger is the also author of Fire (2001) and numerous magazine articles. He received a National Magazine Award for "The Forensics of War" in 2000. He was raised in Belmont, Massachusetts and received a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1984. He currently resides in New York City.
