Secunderbad is the twin city of Hyderabad, India, separated by the man made lake, Hussain Sagar, from the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Secunderabad has a vast Army presence and was first founded in the 18th century as a British cantonment . Named after Sikandar Jah, the third Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, Secunderabad had it's own municipality and city government, until recently when it was merged in with Hyderabad.
