Selay

In the fictional Star Trek universe, the Selay are a reptilian humanoid species that resembles Earth's king cobra, with a hood-like flap on the backs of their heads. Another snake-like quality in Selay biology is their poisonous venom that is released from their frontal fangs. The first appearance of the Selay was in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Lonely Among Us.

The Selay have been enemies of the Anticans since their first encounter. Both species live in the Beta Renna system, with the Selay living on Beta Renner and the Anticans living on Antica. However, Federation diplomats were able to mediate to resolve their differences; now, both the Selay and the Anticans are members of the Federation.
