Shahaji
Shahaji was the eldest son of Maloji Bhonsale of Verul in present day Maharashtra. Maloji Bhonsale was a Jagirdar in the court of Adilshah of Bijapur. He had a younger son, Vithoji. Shahaji took over Jahagir after his fathers death. During his lifetime he tried to establish his own rule under his area of Jahagir. But he faced wrath of Adilshah and switched sides to Nizam of Ahmednagar. Later after his defeat at the hands of Adilshah he accepted a Jahagir in his court. In his later years he was shifted to Bangalur (Present day Bangalore in Karnataka). He died while on a hunt after his fell of his hourse.
