Sheetz, Inc. is a chain of gas stations/ convenience stores owned by the Sheetz family. Stores are located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

History

Sheetz was started in 1952, when Bob Sheetz opened Sheetz Dairy Store, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Then, the company began to grow, and now has 309 different locations.

Food

Sheetz serves Made To Order foods, or MTO's. Most of these foods are sub sandwhiches, salads, and burgers.

Facts

• Sheetz is the only convenience store to win the Silver Plate Award from the International Foodservice.

• In 2004, Sheetz opened their first convenience store/convenience resturaunt in Altoona. This store not only serves as store, but a resturanunt.

• About 20 new stores are added every year

• Ranked #109 on Forbes 500 Top Privately Held Companies in 2003

• More than 9,500 employees.
