Shikotan District, Hokkaido
Shikotan (色丹郡, -gun) is a district located on Shikotan Island claimed by Japan as part of Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaido (see Kuril Island conflict). It has an area of 253.33 km². On August 15, 1945 it had a population of 1038.

Russian Administration
Russia administers the island as part of the South Kurils district of Sakhalin Oblast, administring two villages
