Shilin District (Chinese: 士林區 Wade-Giles: Shih-lin Chu, Tongyong Pinyin: Shihlin Qu) is a district of Taipei, the largest city in Taiwan. It is home to one of the most famous Taiwan Night Markets as well as a large portion of the Taipei population.

Well known subdistricts of Shilin include Tianmu (天母) and Waishuangxi (外雙溪). A substantial portion of the Yangmingshan National Park is within the Shilin District.

A large foreign population lives in Tianmu and Yangmingshan. The Taipei American School and the Taipei Japanese School are located in Tianmu. The Taipei European School is located on Yangmingshan.

Shilin tourist attractions include the Shilin Night Market (士林夜市), the National Palace Museum, and Chiang Kai-shek's official residence and summer residence. Chiang Kai-shek's official residence has been converted into a miniature botanical garden.

Shilin was once famous for its cutting knives (士林名刀) and for scholars that passed the Chinese imperial civil service exams. In fact the name Shilin is literally translated as "Scholarly Woods."

The district has three universities: Ming Chuan University, Soochow University, and the Chinese Culture University.
