Shining Time Station is an American spinoff of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends series, although it was co-created by Britt Allcroft. The series aired on PBS from 1989 to 1993, but returned in specials in 1995 and as Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales in 1997.

It is a railroad station located in the Indian Valley. The station master is Stacy Jones and the engineers were Harry Cooper who later got replaced in by Billy Twofeathers .

There is also an arcade with a Jukebox. The owner of the arcade is the humoristic Schemer who likes to play tricks on people.

An 18-inch conductor lives in a painting on the station wall. He goes to the Island of Sodor and tells stories about Thomas the Tank Engine.

The kids who come to the station are Becky, Dan, Matt, Tanya and Kara.

Specials

In 1990, there was a Christmas special called Shining Time Station: 'Tis A Gift. It was Ringo Starr's last appearance on the series as Mr. Conductor; Lloyd Bridges portrays Mr. Nicholas. Beginning in 1995, there was a series of family specials. In the first of which, before the annual Founders' Day celebration, Becky wishes to meet a real cowboy from a long time ago for just one day. The wish is granted when a cowboy named Ned Kincaid (Ed Begley, Jr.) and his horse disappear off the wall and into the station. He sprains his hand after he falls off his horse, and Stacy brings him back to the station to bandage it up. While he's there, he becomes very popular, and he and Stacy fall in love. He even wins the Founders' Day costume contest for "dressing" like a "real" cowboy. Of course, he disappears back into the wall as a mural at the end of the day. By coincidence, next morning a man arrives at the station who looks like Ned Kincaid, and to everyone's surprise, his family name is Kincaid!
