Shroud
A shroud is typically something, usually a cloth, that covers or protects some other object. The term is most often used in reference to burial sheets , such as the famous Shroud of Turin, but also has other specific meanings such as:
- the heat shield of a space capsule
- a sailboat shroud, a rope that gives support to the masts in sailing ships.
