Singapore-MIT alliance
Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) was founded in [1998]] as an initiative to develop research talents who can contribute locally to the economy. The collabration was formed between the National University of Singapore and Nayang Technological University .
There are currently 6 programmes offered by SMA. Four of the programs are in Phase Two whereby a student can earn a dual masters from both MIT and NUS/NTU. The programs are (i)Computational Engineering (CE) (ii) Computation and Systems Biology (CSB) (iii) Manufacturing Systems and Technology (MST) (iv)Advanced Materials for Micro- and Nano- Systems (AMM&NS)
The student can proceed to do a NUS/NTU P.hd after the dual Masters. Of the remaining two programs, Molecular Engineering of Biological and Chemical Systems (MEBCS) and Computer Science (CS), MEBCS is expected to move into phase two in 2006.
