Sirma Kolrami

Sirma Kolrami is a character on the show Star Trek: The Next Generation. He is played by Roy Brocksmith .

Kolrami, a Zakdorn, works for Starfleet Command as tactical consultant. He was sent to the USS Enterprise-D to supervise a combat practice simulation (see Peak Performance).

Kolrami is an extremely skilled tactician and a third-level grand master in the game Strategema. He is very conscious of his own abilities, and this seems to have got to his head, as he is very smug and contemptuous of those beneath him. He especially dislikes Commander William Riker because of his jovial attitude to command.

When the Ferengi marauder Kreechta threatened to destroy the USS Hathaway , Kolrami suggested sacrificing its crew of forty to save the crew of the Enterprise-D, numbering over a thousand. However, Captain Jean-Luc Picard refused this, intent on saving everyone under his command. After Picard's plan was put to action and had worked, Kolrami wrote a favourful report to Starfleet Command.

During his visit to the Enterprise-D, Kolrami played three games of Strategema, one against Riker, two against Lieutenant Commander Data. Riker lost very early, after only 23 moves. Data, however, managed over a thousand moves before losing his first game. This made him thought he posed a threat to the ship, because his calculations were not perfect. However, Doctor Katherine Pulaski made him change his strategy, and he won his second game after a massive 32 thousand moves, by far the longest game of Strategema ever.
