Smoky Mountain Wrestling
Smoky Mountain Wrestling was an organization staging professional wrestling in the Appalachian area of the United States from 1992 to 1996, when it was run by Jim Cornette (now working for the WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling).
The promotion featured some of the most popular wrestlers in wrestling entertainment, including Jerry Lawler, Terry Gordy, Brad Armstrong, Chris Candido, Mick Foley, and Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Smoky Mountain Wrestling also served as a platform for young talent, including a young Brian James (Road Dogg in the WWF/E). The promotion, however, was not financially successful, and it was purchased by the United States Wrestling Association (USWA), run by Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler.
