Smolensk Oblast
Smolensk Oblast (Смол́енская о́бласть) is a regional subdivision of Russia. Its area is 49,786 square kilometers, population — 1,049,574 people (2002 All-Russia Population Census). Its administrative center is the city of Smolensk.
