Solemn Promise, Motto and Rules of Young Pioneers
The Solemn Promise of the Young Pioneer of the Soviet Union was:
I, a Young Pioneer of the Soviet Union, in the presence of my comrades solemnly promise: To love my Soviet Motherland passionately. To live, learn and struggle as the great Lenin bade us and as the Communist Party teaches us.
The motto of the Young Pioneers of the Soviet Union consisted of two parts, the first was:
Ready to fight for the cause of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union! (Russian:К борьбе за дело Коммунистической партии Советского Союза будь готов!).
The answer, i.e. the second part, was:
Ever ready! (Russian:Всегда готов!).
The Rules of the Young Pioneers of the Soviet Union were:
- Young Pioneer loves his Motherland, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and prepares himself to enter the Komsomol organisation
- Young Pioneer honours the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and for the prosperity of the Soviet Motherland
- Young Pioneer is friendly to the children of all countries
- Young Pioneer learns well, is polite and well disciplined
- Young Pioneer loves labour and is careful of public property
- Young Pioneer is a good comrade, he cares for the young and helps the old
- Young Pioneer is brave and unafraid of difficulties
- Young Pioneer is honest and values the honour of his detachment
- Young Pioneer hardens himself, he does physical exercises every day
- Young Pioneer loves nature, he protects green plantations, birds and animals
- Young Pioneer is an example for all children
