Solidaridad

Solidaridad is a Dutch ecumenical development agency founded in 1969. Its main objective is the promotion of justice in the field of economics, politics and religion/culture. For this, it runs three programs: 1. Fairtrade (for economic justice), with coffee, tropical fruits and cotton/textiles as sub-programs; 2. Impunity Watch (for political justice) with a special focus on political-military atrocities in Guatemala, Peru, Colombia and Brazil and the need for justice; and 3. Globalization from the Poor (for cultural & religious justice), with a specific focus on the liberalization experiences of indigenous and black communities and grassroot churches in South America.

Solidaridad is a leading agent in bridging its three programs to grass root groups in the Netherlands and further, trying to create broad support for specific campaigns and awareness raising.
