Sophie Dahl

Sophie Dahl (born September 15, 1979) is a British model and author. Her mother is author Tessa Dahl, daughter of author Roald Dahl and his wife actress Patricia Neal. Her father is actor Julian Holloway , son of actor Stanley Holloway.

Dahl is largely known for being a model. Her most (in)famous work being an Yves Saint Laurent Opium advert, showing her lying naked on a black velvet sheet.

As a child, Sophie was the inspiration for the character Sophie (the giant's helpmate) in Roald Dahl's The BFG. Latterly Sophie Dahl has herself become an author, writing several short stories and in 2003 publishing the novella The Man with the Dancing Eyes, an "adult fairytale" (ISBN 0747563721).
