South Carolina State University
South Carolina State University, founded 1896, is a historically black university located in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
S.C. State's colors are garnet red and blue and their nickname is the Bulldogs. S.C. State sports teams participate in NCAA Division I (I-AA for football) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
Essie Mae Washington-Williams, the oldest daughter of Strom Thurmond, is an SCSU alum.
