South Dakota School of Mines and Technology
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSM & T) was founded in 1885 as "Dakota School of Mines", primarily as an institution to teach mining engineering and related disciplines. SDSM & T is location in Rapid City, South Dakota on the north-eastern edge of the Black Hills.
Modern day "Tech" provides a number of degree programs for students including 16 engineering and science undergraduate programs, 10 master's degree programs and 3 PhD programs. Undergraduate programs include Geology and Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Interdisciplinary Studies, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, and Mechanical Engineering.
SDSM & T has an average undergraduate enrollment of about 2500 students.
