Southern Ontario Model United Nations Assembly
A model United Nations simulation for secondary school students the Southern Ontario Model United NAtions Assembly (SOMA) usually takes place in the third week of April in Toronto, Canada. Attended by more than 600 students from secondary schools across Canada and the United States, the assembly is held at various locations around the University of Toronto campus, with opening ceremonies taking place at Convocation Hall.
Originally founded in 1971, SOMA has become the oldest and largest high school model United Nations in Canada. An autonomous, federally registered non-profit charitable organization, SOMA is organized annually by up to eight students from the University of Toronto Schools.
