Spanish literature
Spanish literature may refer to:
- literature composed in the Spanish language
- literature of Spain in any of the languages of Spain
It may include Spanish poetry, prose and novels. The Premio Cervantes is awarded to honour the career of a writer in the Spanish language.
One of the features of recent Latin American writing has been magic realism.
The Spaniards are particularly averse to borrowing from the intellectual treasures of other nations. They glean the field of their own muses to the very last ear, and then commence the same labour over again.
