St. Erkenwald
St. Erkenwald was bishop of London between 675 and 693. Erkenwald founded two Benedictine abbeys, Chertsey in Surrey for men (of which he was abbot), and Barking Abbey for women. He is also reputed to have converted Seba , king of the East Saxons, to Christianity in 677. He died at the Barking abbey in 693 and his remains were at St. Paul's Cathedral. His feast day is November 14.
