St Leger Family

The St Leger family is an old Anglo-Irish family with Norman roots, whose name has appeared a few times in history.
The name can be spelt St Leger or St Ledger, or the St. can be dropped altogether.

St Legers of notable historical interest include:
- Anthony St Leger (Lord Deputy of Ireland) - (b. 1496 - d. 1559)
- Sir William St Leger - (d. 1642)
- Anthony St Leger (soldier and founder of the St. Leger Stakes) - (b. 1731 - d. 1786)
- Colonel Barry St Ledger (British Colonel involved in the United States Revolutionary War) - (c. 1750s)
