Starcraft: Retribution
An expansion pack to StarCraft, StarCraft: Retribution was produced in 2001 by WizardWorks Software , a company independent from Blizzard Entertainment, which produced both Starcraft, and its first expansion pack, StarCraft: Brood War. StarCraft: Retribution works within the limits of the current StarCraft game engine, and does not add any explicitly new content to the game. However, StarCraft: Retribution contains over 120 new multiplayer maps, and a single-player campaign to rival that of the original game.

Game Overview
Working within the current StarCraft program, StarCraft: Retribution contains new single player mission in 3 new Protoss, Terran and Zerg Campaigns. Also included are 120 multiplayer maps, which are interesting, but are nothing that could not be obtained for free. In an effort to add new content into the game, WizardWorks Software has created several new heros -characters in the game who serve a plot function and are more powerful than ordinary units- complete with custom voice-acting. Here, StarCraft: Retribution also adds new music and sound effects to finish its addition to the game.
While WizardWorks Software claims to have created an improved AI, there is little evidence of this.
Game Plot
The story revolves around the Terran world of Aridas. All three StarCraft races converge on the planet in order to obtain the fabled Argus Stone - whoever controls the stone will control the universe.
Argus crystals are used by Dark Templar as a powerup.
Current Status
By 2003 it was very difficult to obtain a copy of StarCraft: Retribution. Almost no original copies of this game exist, due to an early cancellation in production and a low purchase rate. While StarCraft: Retribution was authorized by Blizzard Entertainment, they offer no comment on availiablity or technical support.
