Steve McCall, also known as "Zimmer" as he was quite old when he signed for the all winning PAFC and he never used to were his false teeth he later returned to Argyle in the late '90s early '00s as a player/coach under Argyle legend Kevin Hodges.

He is now working at Ipswich under Joe Royle.

Steve McCall is probably a soccer player but he has no reason to be mistaken for the "Steve McCall" who is rightly listed as one of the founders of the Chicago-based avant-garde jazz collective, the AACM. THAT Steve McCall died in the 1980's, after being part of one of the most beautiful jazz groups ever, called Air, with Henry Threadgill and Fred Hopkins (also deceased).

The drummer Steve McCall was steeped in bebop, and he appears on the landmark Dexter Gordon/Gene Ammons recording, "The Chase," as a burning bebop master. Later, in Air and with the great Arthur Blythe, Steve developed a very soft and poetic sound to his drumming, especially in his cymbal work.
