Summerston

Summerston is a residential area of Glasgow, Scotland.

Located in the North-West of the city it is part of the Maryhill district of the city. The area firstly grew as a council housing scheme in the 1970s but latterly there has been a number of private housing developments added too. The housing is mixed, with some flats in the area, but by in large the housing is of the semi-detached variety.

The area is right on the periphery of the City of Glasgow local authority boundaries, and is near to Bearsden which although part of the Glasgow conurbation is outwith those boundaries (being instead part of the East Dunbartonshire council area).

John Paul Academy , one of Glasgow's 11 Roman Catholic secondary schools is located in Summerston.
