Sunan International Airport is the main airport in Pyongyang, North Korea, located 24 km from the city center. Its IATA airport code is FNJ, and its ICAO airport code is ZKPY.

It has 2 runways, the first (01/19) is 4,037m and 60m wide, used mainly for international flights; and the second (17/35) is 3,500m and 70m wide. Runway elevation is 31m, International Airport Fee is 10 euro (or US$11 or 100 Yuan). Its operation hours are 06:00 to 22:00 in the summer and 07:00 to 21:00 in the winter.

The airport is the main hub of Air Koryo. In 2003 and 2004, Aeroflot no longer had a service to the airport, China Southern Airlines offered flights to and from Shenyang during travel peak season only, and Mandarin Airlines and Far East Airlines offered group tour chartered flights between Taipei and Pyongyang during summer (June to August). Korean Air and Asiana Airlines also once provided chartered flight services to Incheon and Yangyang from Pyongyang, the return trip being operated by Air Koryo.

Facilities

The airport has a car park, a business centre, disabled facilities, duty free shop, lounge, taxi stand, Korea Trade Bank, flower shop etc.

Baggage storage facility: Service hours: 08:00 to 21:00; Charge: 1.5 Korean Won (KPW) per piece.

Book shop opens at 10:00.

Restaurant, bar and Korea Foreign Trade Bank: Service hours: 09:00 to 18:00.
