Taichung County (台中縣, pinyin: Táizhōng Xiàn) is a county in central Taiwan, encompassing Taichung City and administered as part of Taiwan Province of the Republic of China.

Its name derives from the Wade-Giles romanization T`ai-chung and means simply "central Taiwan".


Administration

Taichung County controls three township-level cities (縣轄市), five townships (鎮), and 13 rural townships (鄉).
