Takasaki Line
The Takasaki Line (Japanese: 高崎線 Takasaki Sen) is a 74.7-kilometre railway line that runs from Omiya Station in Saitama, Saitama, Japan to Takasaki Station in Takasaki, Gunma. It is owned and operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
Train services on the line are extended to and from Ueno Station in Tokyo via Tohoku Main Line. Calling the whole 101.6-kilometre Ueno-Takasaki section of "Takasaki Line" is acceptable.
As the cities serviced includes important cities like Ageo, Okegawa, Konosu, Kumagaya, Fukaya and Honjo in Saitama Prefecture, it is a vital line for the prefecture. The National Road Route 17 and its historical predecessor Nakasendo runs near this line.
