Tarana
Tarana is a vocal style in Indian music in which meaningless syllables are used in a very fast rendition. This was invented by Amir Khusro. Certain syllables are used because they sound more pleasing than others, for example "tarana" "tananare" "yalali". It is common all over India. The south Indian form of it is called tillana or thillana and is widely used in dance performances.
Tarana is also a small town in New South Wales.
