Tatiana Totmianina

Tatiana Totmainia (born c. 1987) is a Russian ice skater.

Totmianina and her skating partner Maxim Marinin , are considered by some to be one of Europe's best skating couples. On the other hand, they are often critizized for their choice of clothes during competitions.

At the 2004 Skate America Figure Skating Grand Prix , held on October 24 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Totmianina suffered a dangerous fall as she was hanging from Marinin's right hand and his right skate lost traction on the ice. Totmianina fell to the Marinin's left side, hitting herself against the ice on the left side of her head. She was unsconsious for many minutes, and she required immediate medical assistance. This show was being telecast across the United States by the ABC television network. Totmianina and Marinin were disqualified from the competition. The pair was participating at the competition's free skate event.

Totmianina sustained a head concussion, as well as eye and neck injuries, suffering damage somewhat comparable to the damage caused by a knockout in boxing. She required hospitalization for one night.

On October 25, she was released from the hospital, and she immediately returned to Russia.
