The World's Greatest Tag Team

(Redirected from Team Angle)

The World's Greatest Tag Team or The Self-Proclaimed World's Greatest Tag Team is a professional wrestling Tag Team formally in the World Wrestling Entertainment. The members of this team consisted of Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin, who were captined by Kurt Angle.

The tag team made their debut on the December 26, 2002 edition of Smackdown!, Paul Heyman debuts the team under the name "Team Angle" as a 'gift' to his top client Kurt Angle. The team would soon go on to win tag team gold.

On June 12, 2003 Kurt Angle confronted Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas about a losing streak the group had been in for a couple of weeks and ends up firing them both from "Team Angle".

Soon after the Benjamin & Haas would refer to themselves as "The World's Greatest Tag Team", the self-proclaimed "World's Greatest Tag-Team" and went on to recapture the WWE Tag Team titles.

The group stayed together until March 22, 2004 when, during the Draft Lottery, Shelton Benjamin was drafted to WWE's other brand RAW thus breaking up The World's Greatest Tag Team.
