Teddy Ruxpin
Teddy Ruxpin is a animatronic teddy bear from the 1980's produced by toy maker, Worlds of Wonder . The bear would moves its lips as it read stories with an audio tape that was placed in a deck built into the unit's back. Although Teddy Ruxpin was popular, Worlds of Wonder eventually went bankrupt in 1988.
Worlds of Wonder also produced an anthropomorphic caterpillar friend for Teddy named Grubby the Octopede whom he could synch up with Teddy Ruxpin to have a conversation. In 1986, Teddy became the star of his own traditionally animated television cartoon show called The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin about his quests with Grubby the Octopede and an inventor named Newton Gimmick on a flying magical boat trying to discover treasures and confronting a villain named Jack W. Tweeg.
