Tellico River
The Tellico River is a short river located in the westernmost mountains of North Carolina, where it rises, but primarily in Monroe County, Tennessee. It is a major tributary of the Little Tennessee River and the namesake of Tellico Lake , which empounds its mouth and the last several miles of its course. Upstream from the lake, above the town of Tellico Plains, it is a premier trout stream. Major tributaries include the Bald River and the North River. It rises near the Tennessee-North Carolina state line, in the Cherokee National Forest.
