Terry Kilrea
Terry Kilrea (born 1957 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a politician in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Kilrea ran for mayor of Ottawa in the 2003 municipal election with a right-wing platform that included opposition to light rail expansion, abolition of the ban on smoking in public places, and an increase of police officers. He came out of virtually nowhere, to finish a respectable second place thanks to support in the rural areas that tend to be more conservative.
Kilrea also ran for the Conservative Party of Canada nomination in Ottawa South for the 2004 federal election. He lost the nomination to Alan Riddell, who was defeated in the election by Liberal candidate David McGuinty.
Kilrea has vowed to run again in the 2006 municipal election ,and has already begun to campaign.
Terry Kilrea is the nephew of legendary Ottawa 67's hockey coach Brian Kilrea.
