The Grudge
The Grudge is an American remake of the Japanese movie Ju-On: The Grudge. It stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Bill Pullman and is directed by Takashi Shimizu.
Tagline: Once you see it, you can never forget. Once it sees you, you can never escape.
The Grudge officially opened in US theaters on Friday, October 22, 2004.
As of 24 October 2004, The Grudge has made $40 million in the North American box office, far exceeding the expectations of Sony Pictures. The company revealed that a sequel is being considered, despite the generally poor reviews. It also stated that it cost "less than $10 million to produce [The Grudge]." The Grudge bumped Shark Tale from its #1 slot.
The Grudge is the curse of one who dies in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die and a new one is born, passed from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror.
