The Ivy Club
The Ivy Club, founded in 1879, was the first eating club at Princeton University. The members of each class are selected through "bicker," a series of interviews followed by discussions amongst the members. Described as "breathlessly aristocratic" by F. Scott Fitzgerald and as the place where "elitism still rules" by the New York Times, Ivy was one of the last clubs (along with Tiger Inn and Cottage Club) to admit female members.
Its alumni include Booth Tarkington, Hobey Baker, Woodrow Wilson, and James A. Baker III.
