The Legend of Zelda (animated series)

The Legend of Zelda is a cartoon series based on the popular Legend of Zelda video games created by Shigeru Miyamoto. The series aired on U.S. television from 1989 to 1990. This series aired weekly as part of The Super Mario Bros. Show. The series was produced by DiC, in association with Nintendo of America. Unfortunately for most fans of the game, the series only lasted one season.


Contents

Show premise

Taking place during the first Legend of Zelda game, the series follows the adventures of Link as he bravely defends the kingdom of Hyrule from an evil wizard Gannon and his dim-witted minions. Each episode consists of Gannon attempting to capture the Triforce of Wisdom from the beautiful Princess Zelda or Gannon coming up with some other scheme to gain total power in Hyrule.
