The Midnight Caller
"Good night America, wherever you are" (famous quote and the last words at the end of the each episode)
Probably the most moodiest of all TV series ever placed in San Francisco. Unlike many other shows that would drove attention simply by changing hair styles, adding new characters and flirting with safe routine for each new season,...Midnight Caller's strength was in combination of well created stories shaped by real life characters, and almost all the time rotating around a few of the main characters of show. This way, show established a rare sort of intimacy between characters and many viewers that enjoyed this series.
Show of the 80's that had finest music jazzy treatment often equilibrating between themes and score with profound improvisations of piano and trumpet almost frequently. The Midnight Caller jazzy music theme is without any doubt most groovy theme in 80's and really speaks for itself. Great atmosphere is reflected also in stories of this show where main character ex. cop Jack Killian who at night works at radio station and often as incidental detective solves problems over the day. Great casting certainly complimented this wonderful show, the same also has a dedicated site where you can find just about anything you would ever want to know about the show, plus every episode has description and a few screen captures : http://garycole.net/mc/
