The Motorcycle Diaries
The Motorcycle Diaries (Spanish: Notas de viaje or Diarios de motocicleta) is an autobiographical book by Ernesto "Che" Guevara about his travels through South America with his friend Alberto Granado.
The Motorcycle Diaries is also a 2004 film, based on Guevara's book, as well as Granado's Con el Che por America Latina. The film debuted in Sundance Film Festival 2004 and was later screened in Cannes as a film in competition, and it won three awards: François Chalais Award , a Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and a Technical Grand Prize . It was also nominated for two Academy Awards in 2005 for Best Original Song and Best Adapted Screenplay (José Rivera), winning for Best Original Song (the first ever spanish-language song to receive this honor).
