The Other Side of Midnight
The Other Side of Midnight is a 1973 novel by American author, Sidney Sheldon. The book went to No.1 on the New York Times bestseller list. It was made into a 1977 motion picture directed by Charles Jarrott . The cast included Marie-France Pisier, John Beck , Susan Sarandon, and Josette Banzet.
It is a story of the enchanting French actress Noelle Page who fights life from the ugly fishing paradise Marseilles to glory. On the other side of the globe Catherine Alexander, a beautiful young woman, in Chicago struggles for recognition and success. An American war time pilot Larry Douglas is a typical playboy from the States and just goes trotting over the globe sweeping women off their feet. This is a story between these three people whose lives get intervened in the most dramatic manner. Towards the middle enters Constantin Demiris, an Greek tycoon, who does not forgive and forget. He is the one who controls the lives of the other 3 characters in the most unexpected manner and thus the plot twists to a stunning finish.
