The Process of Belief

The Process Of Belief is an album by the band Bad Religion.

Bad Religion released this album on January 22, 2002, in the US. This album featured the return of Brett Gurewitz.

The first hit was "Sorrow", which made the charts of November/December of 2001. The song is based on the story told in the Book of Job and uses it as an allegory for all human suffering. The first lines are in direct reference to the book:

Father can you hear me?
How have I let you down?
I curse the day that I was born
And all the sorrow in this world

(Compare Job 3:1-3.) It goes on to question the existence of suffering: "Will you guide me now, for I can't see a reason for the suffering and this long misery. What if every living soul could be upright and strong, well, then I do imagine there will be sorrow (..) no more."
