The Wheezer Bros.

The Wheezer Bros. is an animated series supposedly aimed for young adults created by animator Jon H. Rexel. It was about Hungarian-born Wenger Doufybutox (Skoota as he likes to be called) immigrating to America to live with his cousins, quiet, troubled Ralf and estranged, idiotic Stinky (real name Jeremy) Wheezer, in which the bizarre and nonsensical occurs. The animation was produced by Mystic Pieces and the voices were provided by Mike Jennings . The series aired from November 1995 to September 2004.

History

Created as a short animation project by Jon H. Rexel, NBC Studios and Mystic Pieces turned the short film into a major animated TV series in 1995. Not only was the show a hit with teens, but also delighted young viewers as well, even though most episodes has mature adult humour in it (i.e. "They Ate Ralf's Brain", "Home Sweet Home", "Say Uncle Wheezer"). All the shows were directed by Rexel until late 1997, when he (and a few members of the crew) quit the series after an incredibly violent episode ("War: A Story") was pitched in front of NBC executives. The series was temporarily cancelled until NBC decided to give Mystic another chance in the summer of 1999. The series went back in production without Rexel, so assistant director Bill Stott (the person responsible for the calamity) was asked to be in charge. The final series aired in 2000 (with the completed "War: A Story" airing before the premiere) and the show officially ended in 2001, but with four episodes remaining to air. In 2004, the remaining episodes (except one, which was banned from NBC because it had subliminal messages saying that the show was going to end) finally aired.

The Brothers

Wenger "Skoota" Doufybutox: A sarcastic, witty exchange immigrant from Hungary. Was raised by a army general and his wife until he was forced to live in the United States.

Jeremy "Stinky" Wheezer: Skoota's cousin. Probably the most dumbest human on the planet, but is a very good performer.

Ralf Wheezer: Stinky's brother. The misfit of the threesome.

Supporting Characters

Charles Badguy: Comic book store owner who likes to torment and poke fun at the brothers, even after they caused him to get fired from his job in "A Store Too Far".

Ricky McCool: Popular TV show host. Plays a variety of different characters throughout the series (i.e. con man, bus driver).

Toilet Plunger Man: Comic book superhero who got his powers from a radioactive toilet plunger. He also has his own TV show and has appeared as a real character in "Toilet Humour".

The Pixies: Creatures who live in the Wheezers' basement. Their leader is called Walnut.

General Ponko Doufybutox: Insane army general/father of Skoota who created the concept of the Enormous Hungarian Stink Bomb. He and his wife Bob are currently serving in The Lousy Bums Penitentiary in Hungary.

Great Uncle Poophead: Deceased uncle of Ralf and Skoota.

Blongo X4: Stressed alien who tried to conquer the world with fried cheese in "Unintelligent Life".

Screaming Lady: A minor character who likes to scream whenever something good or bad happens. Her scream was provided by creator Jon H. Rexel.

Episodes

Most programmes consist of two 11-minute episodes. During the first two seasons, bonus episodes were sometimes added to fill up timeslots (i.e. Series Two's "Vacation in Schnotzville").
