Thomas Tresham (speaker)
Sir Thomas Tresham, was Speaker of the House of Commons in 1459. He was beheaded by King Edward IV in 1471. His father, William Tresham, had also been Speaker and had been murdered in 1450.
Their descendant Francis Tresham was one of the conspirators in the Gunpowder Plot that intended to destroy the House of Commons.
